MBER Virtual Programs

MBER Virtual Summer Offerings - Overview

Model Based Educational Resource (MBER) is a full-year high school biology or Earth Science integrated biology course developed by a team at UC Davis. MBER is intended to support students in developing a set of explanatory models in the life/Earth sciences that can be used to explain a range of phenomena. In each unit, phenomena motivate student questions and the class works together to build explanatory models that can be used to answer their questions.

We are hosting multiple programs this summer, including two virtual programs; one designed for teachers that are new to MBER and one designed for experienced users that just need a refresh. We are also offering an in-person summer institute. Look below for more information on our two virtual programs. Registration for any of our MBER programs includes a lifelong membership to the MBER community, as well as access to the full year of NGSS-aligned high school biology and/or Earth-integrated curricular materials.

Intro to MBER

This 2-day virtual institute will be held via Zoom. It will contain many of the same elements of our in-person 4-day institutes, so should not be taken in addition to an in-person institute! It is designed to help you navigate the collection of MBER tools, links, strategies, and resources. In addition to the institute, you’ll also receive a lifelong membership to the MBER community, as well as access to the full year of NGSS-aligned high school biology and/or Earth-integrated curricular materials.
