The Model-Based Educational Resources-Biology (MBER-Bio) program is an integrated suite of educational resources (including online and professional development elements) to support high school biology teachers in both enacting and understanding a year-long sequence of instruction aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards.

This 3-day institute on August 2-4, 2017 at Sacramento State is designed to help teachers learn to navigate the collection of helpful tools, links, strategies, and resources designed to help you, the teacher, gain a deeper insight into the nuances of the Model-Based Educational Resource. The ideas presented are designed to help you understand what changes in thought and action will help you and your students transition to a model-based classroom. In addition to the institute, you will also receive a lifelong membership to the MBER Biology community, and access to the full year of NGSS-aligned high school biology curriculum materials. Learn how to use the materials and teach in ways that support students in science learning as called for in NGSS.
